Eric Samek is the founder of Brasa Capital Management and is responsible for deal origination, transaction execution, portfolio management and overall management of the firm’s operations. Over the course of his career, Eric Samek has invested over $1 billion of debt and equity in the office, multifamily, industrial and retail sectors. He has spearheaded the acquisition and asset management efforts for numerous assets throughout the West Coast.

Before founding Brasa in 2018, Eric Samek spent 10 years with AEW Capital Management where he was responsible for investment origination and asset management. He served most recently as Head of the Western United States for AEW’s opportunity fund. Prior to joining AEW, Mr. Samek served as Director for real estate private equity investments at Broadreach Capital Partners in Santa Monica, California.

Eric Samek first began his in New York at Goldman Sachs as an investment banking analyst. He later held positions at A.E.E. Partners in Brownsville, Texas and at McCown De Leeuw & Co., a private equity investment firm in Menlo Park, California.

Today, Eric Samek is a member of the Stanford Alumni Real Estate Council (SREC), Urban Land Institute Small-Scale Development Council and Real Estate Investment Advisory Council (REIAC).

Eric Samek earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a Masters of Business Administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas.
